Saw in the news that a dog dies the other day after being bitten by a venomous adder in Smithills. I presumed that it ust have been a pet snake or an escaped pet snake. But apparentley there have been a couple of people hospitalised too through poisonous snake bites in Barrow Bridge.
There are now allegedly signs up in some places warning of the danger posed by snakes.
It turns out that we do indeed have a population of poisonous adders native to this country which tend to live out on the moors and such places. The warm weather is thought to have contributed to good breeding year for them.
Am I the only numpty who thought that the snakes in the UK were not dangerous? Feel as though I might as well move to Oz after all.
