Scottish Independence.

Thanks for that. I think small attention has been paid to the number of Labour seats in Scotland. All this lot is a load of chest beating by SNP.
The downside for the jocks if they took independence would I suspect be similar to the UK quitting the EU, but a crystal ball is always a handy piece of kit.

The main downside of Scotland becoming independent is that the rest of us would be condemned to a Tory government forever as without the Scottish Labour seats the Labour party will never form another government.

I Know that's what I like about it,they should never be allowed near the economy again.

Ive not paid much attention to this of late, but reading this got my back up... 

OK, so they don't want our nuclear deterrent - good. However, they 'expect' us to basically GIVE them a military infrastructure for free - they will take over our airfields, army bases and ports and run them themselves along with "part of britans military hardware - Fighter Jets, weapons, tanks etc...

   - fine, they can have the land and the airfields etc, but if i was in government, id tell the cheeky bastards to fuck off - our submarines, our cruse missiles, our APC's, our tanks, our guns - NOT YOURS, Id say - "you are now an independent country - so form your own defense forces, buy your own fighter jets and other hardware, ours are coming 'home'

They can start by buying the Euro-fighter Typhoon off us - £67million a pop, bargain. 

You watch the 'pro-Scotland' camp change course pretty quick then...

So nobody is slightly concerned that the vast majority of UK North Sea Oil and Gas interests are in Scottish Waters? As are what's left of the British fishing waters.
Or that nuclear facilities will have to be rehoused in England? (that should go down well with the English who are without exception NIMBYs)

Scotland already has a defence force and has historically been a significant contributor in terms of manpower. And why should they give up the weapons RR? They've paid for them just as much as the English. 

Needs to be thought through but I must say that Westminster seriously needs to wake up and put a sensible response together.

However, with independence comes the burden of looking after yourself, ALL our military hardware is coming back, we are not going to gift them an army, navy and air force that they can bomb us with in a few years when some Gaelic nutter on a power trip decides to 'act hard' 

We also get our currency back, they didn't even want it before and insisted on printing their own bank notes so fuck them, they are pretty happy for the horrible English bastards notes to be spent up there though... 

They have spent too long hating us now, let them get on with it and suffer the consequences.

But HBOS group are Scottish and trade in the UK (same as northern rock but with the countries the opposite way round)
