BBC interrupted programmes to announce the news immediately thankyou. ITV deemed the events in Im a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, too important to interrupt, speaks absolute volumes.Anyone who watches that brainless, inane shite take note !!

RIP Madiba, I read his book, Long Walk to Freedom. A very good read. 95 is a bloody good innings when you consider that he spent 27 years on Robben Island. A truly great politician and leader. Blessed with bags of humanity and devoid of insincerity. A man of the people ( of all colours ).

The news is bugging me. I wanted to know what happened in the storms etc as well. I watch the entire hour of BBC news and they mentioned nothing else but Mandela, which I know is important but so is stuff happening right now. I thought they were evacuating thousands of people etc coz its going to be so bad
I've now watched the news on every channel for the last 2 hours or more and got nowhere.
Nelson Mandela is a huge figure and had a massive positive influence, its a sad loss for the world. Rip.

They should have put on a special report after giving us the other news

'Most of the victims were civilians, but some were air force personnel in uniform, black and white. Quite a number of those killed were black.'
'Oliver Tambo, who is the organisation's acting president while its senior figure, Nelson Mandela, is in prison, said the Nedbank Square building was a legitimate target, although he did not admit carrying out the attack'.
A free Mandela ended up a peaceful Mandela.
Although the ANC killed far more black people than they did white folk.
I'm glad aparthied has died.

Yes an old man has died its to be expected and its totaly over the top coverage for the news, the storms should be covered its more important than the death of an old man, when did one mans death take all that coverage ridiculus. The papers will be just as bad tommorow.

I find Paris Hilton's ignorance really worrying and hope it's not symptomatic of a generation.

I wonder what Mrs Thatcher ' s words of tribute would have been?
It is to be hoped the example he set the people of South Africa can be used as a template for the future of that country and no Mugabe type despot takes over.

By all accounts the current leader, Jacob Zuma, is ' taters deep ' in corruption.
