The Daily Mail published an article a few days ago that said most folk would be staying home and having a few drinks.

I will be going out with a few close friends and family for a few beers tomorrow night.

What are all you fellow nutters doing?  Smile

It's the worst night of the year to go out.

It didn't used to be but it is now.

What's that? £5 to get in? The clue is in the name, Public House, it's not a members club.

You quite right there Copper!

Last year our local wanted to charge £10 entry which included a buffet and they sold no tickets until they dropped the price to £2.50.

This year is the same price including buffet which isn't bad (£2.50 again) which helps to soak some of the beer up although I feel should be free for us regulars who go in week in week out!

I agree with Copper. Charging folk money to go into a pub is daylight robbery. I'll be seeing the new year in at home with a few beers and avoiding all the pissheads.

I'll be round a family members house for a house party...much cheaper!

I'll most likely be home watching the new "Hobbit" movie or playing Max Payne 3. Maybe a little Fifa 14 with some nice, alcoholic Sorrel thrown in for good measure. Not doing the road thing at all if I can help it.

I am staying in, due to the inconsiderate idiots that let fireworks off and frighten my miniature schnauzer dog. Like letting a firework off and celebrating another year will change the world?  ::FU::

For the first time in 10 years I will be staying in - having a quiet New Year by myself with a bottle of Grolsch and a chicken microwave dinner!!! The other half is still in Germany and not coming back until January 4th, but I am having to go to work on 2nd January!!!

I absolutely hate NYE. Hate it with a passion.

I once went to the 'White Hart' in Chorley for NYE and someone threw a bottle at my head.

A couple of years later I slipped going down the steps towards 'The Swan With Two Necks' and broke my ankle.

I now stay in and go to bed at 11pm.

I'm with Nat,I hate it. Something bad always happens to me on NYE, so I'm staying in,if only to avoid having to kiss people I'd normally only kiss after being drugged. However you celebrate, have a great time.

I'm with you, Bonce.

It'll be me, Mrs B and Humphrey the Labrador staying in with a few bottles of wine.

(Although none for Humph, as he's only two and you can't give  baby booze.)

Just looked at the TV listings and it appears there's fuck all on worth watching (as per usual), so it looks like we'll be watching Elysium on disc.

And if any of the neighbours appear at midnight and try any "first footing" bollocks, they'll get a foot alright.....right up the pumper.

Heard mixed reviews regarding 'Elysium' Bread,I might give it a go in the new year. But you're right about the TV listings, and it's getting worse every year.

I got it on Blu Ray from the In-laws for Christmas, so I'll give it a go. I really enjoyed District 9 and it's the same bloke, so here's hoping.

And where did you get that picture of Mrs B?

Was that you in the bushes the other night?

How dare you! I never 'lurk'. It was probably Michael Bolton. The picture is just someone I came across during some 'me' time. She looks more than a handful! Laughing

Not literally, I hope.

That stuff does your monitor and keyboard no good at all. Half my keys are permanently stuck down now and it takes ages typing even simple sentences, with all the "shifting" and holding down CTRL.....

Use a sock.

Stop making me laugh Bread. My coffee just sprayed my monitor. Luckily I have a drawer full of tissues.
