However, this myth that booing someone makes them play worse is utter bollocks. If someone says you're shite at something it's human nature to try harder and prove them wrong - which is exactly what happened.
I honestly think the team would perform better if we booed them as soon as they came out of the tunnel. We've tried supporting them, where the fuck has that got us?

Natasha this is you at your best.
I don't agree wholeheartedly. I want the fans to be fair at all times. Sometimes that means supporting a player that's cocked up but is giving 100%. Sometimes it means giving stick to players that simply wouldn't otherwise give a shit.
You can't always rely on a manager to give players the kick up the arse they need. This idea that it's wrong for fans to put players under any pressure whatsoever is nonsense.

If (as I recall) Knight was booed after the first goal it tends to support the idea that booing doesn't work - as he did it again. If on the other hand he was only booed after the second, it would tend to support the booing theory.

Its not just about Zat Knights performance, it affects the other 10 players. Do you think there craving for the ball when the idiots eating a pie are booing every move.
Look up the meaning of fan, if it says to Boo the players then that's it i'm off.
i agree just because we are fans doesn't mean we have so sit and be happy with the dross we are offered in almost every home game. I didn't agree with the booing of Knight during the game but fans need some way of showing their displeasure after the final whistlebwfc71 wrote:wessy wrote:Booing is counter productive, when do you ever hear pundits saying the atmosphere is electric, the crowds the 12th man , The crowds worth a point etc based on fucking booing.

It doesn't say constant praising and clapping either, whether good or bad, but fans do!!!
Fans = fanatical
If a fan thinks that something is not right then a fan is entitled to show that - it shows FANATICAL passion!
Biggie wrote:To be fair to Lonergan - the second goal was also Knights fault. For several reasons.
A. This idea that Knight pointed to where he was going to put it is rubbish. He always does that point thing. He thinks it's a decoy. He also did the point thing on the first goal before he flicked it up over his head.
B. Lonergan pointed where he wanted it. To his right, on his right foot and away from he goal.
C. Even if Lonergan should not have come out so far, the fact that Knight then chose to hit it past him doesn't make it Lonergan's fault. If Reem or any half decent defender had seen Lonergan running out would you think they would have done what Knight did? No.
D. Defenders are always taught not to make a back pass directly on their own goal - especially under pressure. Either put it out of play (especially after his first cock up) or at leas send it wide of the goal in case the keeper misses it so it won't roll in, and also so that the striker can't run directly onto it and have an easy chance. That is the last place Knight should have put it, regardless of what Lonners was doing.
