The Dentist!

Got my 6 monthly dental check-up in Walkden tomorrow,and I'm already on the nerve tonic. It's only a check-up for chrissake but it always gives me the willies. Am I a wimp? And are you lot REAL men when it comes to people poking around in your gob with pointed sticks?

Your not on your own BB, I haven't been for a good few years as I'm terrified and really could do with going.

Anything to do with needles etc and you won't see me for dust!

That sonic cleaning lance they use for shifting the shit between your peggys pisses me off!!

It gets worse. My old Dentist retired after 30 years and I'll have to settle for his replacement. It's a newly qualified woman. 

As daft as it sounds, I would rather have all my teeth pulled out in 1 time and have false ones!

Good idea KP. My Dad always said his teeth were like the stars. They came out at night. 

wierdly as a kid and up to about 20 i was terrified of even booking an apt over the phone, when i was 15 i had to get there about 2 hours early and walk around the block as many times in that period so i was exhausted and just went in fucked. These days i dont mind at all last time i went it was for root canal work dont get much worse than that !! on the way the wife said lets look at the flower stall reluctantly i went over behind her turned my ankle in a hole and went down face first into the pavement like a sack of shit you should have heard the noise it made. I tore the ligaments in my ankle it was agony and my face looked like i'd been hit by a baseball bat  but i went on all the same sat in the chair and had the work done, the dentist and nurse looked worried even a bit nervous at the state of my face and swollen ankle had to cut off my levis when i got home. No i'm not bothered at all by the dentist but then he does have nice fluffy toys dangling from the ceiling. Now the docs or the hospital you can fuck right off not for me.

Dentists don't bother me...Yet

I dont bother with the needle for fillings, i'm a needlephobe is that a crime??? so i put up with the nerve pain instead.

That's where I go and, you're right, it can be scary.

Especially when you get the bill......

£650 to have an abscess sorted.

You should have seen the look on the people in the waiting room when i came out.

That's the one Bread. It went private a few years ago,so it was "use us,or sod off and find an NHS dentist. If you can". And no way will I be wearing my kilt. It could lead to an unfortunate sequence of events.

Richard Bleasdale was mine,Blackburn supporter,so our encounters were pretty tense. But a great bloke for all that. Off playing golf in happy retirement now.
