Just heard the twat on the telly saying that he decided to try something new today and it worked and he's happy about it because we won.

The "new thing", by his own admission was trying two strikers up front.

If you don't believe me, look it up on the BBC I-Player.

He's a fucking idiot who has finally realised that playing one up front doesn't work and us un-football educated idiots have been right all along.

Fucking sack the clueless prick now, before he does any more damage.

Sorry but finally deciding to do what most of us have been demanding all season, ie playing two up top, does not make him a decent manager.

I've read a few comments on here today after the final whistle along the lines of "fair play, Doug - you got it right today and we looked good."

That's not the sign of a decent manager, it's just another indication that he's a clueless desperado who's fast running out of options.

But this is not the first time we've played two up front this season. There's more too this good performance than simply playing an extra striker.

When we played Leicester away we had Beckford and Moritz up front and Dougie brought on Craig Davies in the 2nd half. We lost 5-3 but we were a threat going forward.

I missed the Blackburn match as it was my wedding day. So I don't care how crap we played or who we put on the pitch, it was still an absolutely perfect day for me.  

It wasn't just about playing two up front, it was about our midfield being a lot narrower than it usually is (No wingers).

Mind you, if she was only to see one view at a time, extolling her virtues, in a very tasteful way, I'm sure your street cred would increase in leaps and bounds, (not that I would let my other half anywhere near the pages on here   )

Unfortunately you have a point. I personally do find it difficult to understand all the swearing that goes on on this site.   

It's a bit like being back on the high school playground sometimes with the kids trying to impress each other by saying the F word and the like in a bid to appear hard and edgy. Personally I feel there are much better ways to express displeasure, anger and disagreement than to call people facile names or make juvenile comments about their intelligence/sexual preferences or other attributes. Personally I prefer to try and use a reasoned form of argument. It's for that reason I still post on JA606 at least as much as I post here and in many ways I prefer it. Some may call it over moderated but personally I feel this site could do with a bit more of the admins saying "no, you can't post in that form" sometimes. I know it's difficult, you want as many viewpoints as possible on the one hand because you have to have numbers to attract advertisers and pay for the site but you also need to be wary of having total anarchy because many advertisers will be wary of associating themselves with a forum that may damage their "image". 

For that reason none of our four children are permitted to join this site OR sites like Facebook and Twitter.

I might have misunderstood you a bit Peter - and if I have I apologise - but we don't have advertisers or sponsors on here.  The site is funded entirely by the people who run it - so we answer to no one as to what is posted on here (within the law of course).

We actually do mod the site - obviously not as much to your liking - but stuff like under age sex, incest, wife beating, etc have been dealt with before on here and are not tolerated.

On the other hand we are a football site, with people who go to football matches, who probably like a drink or two before / during and or after the game.  All of us on here are adults who hear the same sort of language / banter at the game, or in the bar - so why should we tell people that they should act any differently just because they are on Nuts?

Most if not all of the stuff on here is banter - non of it is meant.

Sometimes it might go a bit too far - and not all of it is to my personal taste - but the best forums I believe try to be as open and amenable to all views and opinions as they can, with the the lightest of touch from the moderators to smooth things out if and when required.

For the record I've been banned from JA606, presumably because I mentioned our Chatbox facility on their match threads when people had asked 'Where is everyone?'.  I must have done that about 3 or 4 times over two seasons - hardly excessive I would have thought concidering the number of mentions Nuts gets on threads from JA606 regulars anyway!

I only mention this now to highlight the difference in how sites differ and mods do their jobs.  JA606 obviously dosen't want mention of Nuts on there from me - yet is more than happy to post up every week now our (Bolton Nuts) match day stream!  Whilst we are more than happy for you (or anyone else) to mention and even extol JA606 and how they moderate it, free of having your post removed or even being banned like I have been.

At the end of the day people vote with their feet.

A small number of Wanderers fans have got together to give freely of their time and money to make this site the best as we can make it for the benefit of us all.  Obviously we don't expect our site to be everybodys cup of tea but our aim as always been to be as up to date as we can be with the latest Wanderers news and whilst people are here, to have a laugh and a joke with them too.

If in your opinion if that involves too many swear words or gets into too much piss taking out of each other, then I am sorry but I think most people see the site for what it is and if you compared us to other sites such as JA606, Burnden Aces, Bolton Banter, Bolton Mad, Mavies, etc, then we seem to be getting a lot more things right than wrong.

There's always room for improvement though, so thanks for your comments - they will be noted.

True story:

I got banned from JA606 because someone (Reebok Bricks if anybody's interested) complained about a comment I'd posted and the guy moderating the site was in the pub playing pool and because that was more important to him than looking into the complaint properly, he just slapped me with an IP ban there and then.

I can't imagine that happening on here and that's just one of the reasons why this is a far better site.

As for the swearing, yes I'm probably one of the biggest culprits and if my use of "colourful" language offends anybody......they can fuck off.

If you can't tolerate a bit of effing and jeffing, stay away from football......

My bad on the advertisers sluffy, I thought you had some I couldn't see 'cos I use Adblock on Chrome for everything. 

I don't say we should all be good little boys and girls who NEVER swear but I do feel that on this site there is far too much of it for no really valid reason, it's like I said about the playground. Overall I enjoy the site, the debate is usually pretty good and reasonably informed but all too often it descends into juvenile name calling, an issue I have commented on before. Wading though twenty or thirty comments that basically are two or three posters saying "Eff you" to try and find someone who said something about the actual topic can be tiresome. 

I have been accused of not knowing the difference between banter and personal insults on here. To that I'll say so be it, when someone starts calling others various puerile names instead of actually discussing the topic I would say it isn't banter. It's both juvenile and boring as well as offensive. If that makes me some sort of spoilsport then so be it. I want to talk about BWFC and the issues affecting our club not wade through fifty comments about poster's parentage, sexual preferences or personal lives to find the ONE comment that has something to do with football. 

Overall the general experience on here has been a positive one or I wouldn't keep coming back but to be honest during my recent week off I did NOT miss the way certain people on here talk to one another at all. I enjoyed the break and the banter on JA606 which was just as robust without the need to resort to infantile swearing and personal comments.

Breadman you and I have debated since the old BBC days and for the most part it's a good laugh to debate with you. I agree entirely that at a match you have to expect the swearing. I agree that on here there's going to be some of it BUT there's got to be a point at which the mods step in and say "Actually no, that wasn't acceptable". As to Bricks, well, the JA 606 Bricks has disappeared. Apparently he turned out to be a Man Utd fan who was on our board just to cause trouble. 

By the way, do you remember the "Cruise Ship Saga" that BBC Bricks was supposedly on?   

I know that the line of what is and isn't acceptable is different for everyone but I feel it would be remiss not to say that on here it sometimes winds up spoiling what should be a decent thread and interesting debate by filling the pags with useless personal insults. If I'm alone in believing that and howling at the moon then so be it.
