The scout reports...
Teenage midfielder Andy Robinson is the latest product of Southampton's famed academy, and we check on his progress.
19-year-old Robinson is a South Coast boy, born in Bournemouth but he has been with Southampton since the age of eight.
Robinson is an all-action midfielder, who has long been tipped as a future star at St Mary's.
He was captain of Southampton's Under-18s side and was expected to break through last term in the Championship but injury hampered his progress.
However, after working hard through pre-season he is now up to speed and has been in and around the first-team squad in the last few weeks.
The tenacious youngster was rewarded for his progress as he made his first-team debut in the League Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Southampton are now hoping Robinson can become a force in the first team in the coming 12 months.
A tough tackler, Robinson also has a very good eye for a pass and is very much in the 'classy' bracket.
The scout says...
Is in one of the best places in the country to be schooled, but there is certainly something special about Robinson.
Many believe he could be the next Saints academy man to attract a big-money move.
