Hadn't realised, knew it would be something like this due to the time being 07.

Our up and coming game is against Barnsley at home this Saturday and as noted kick off time has changed to 15:07.

Our reverse fixture at Oakwell was Barnsley 0-1 Bolton with Danns scoring in the 64th minute for Bolton to take all 3 points.

Barnsley are currently sitting in 23rd position with 36 points, 15 points behind Bolton and 6 points away from getting out of the relegation zone.

Barnsley's last 4 results are:

  • 0-1 loss against Burnley at home
  • 0-0 draw at home against Brighton
  • 1-4 win against Yeovil away
  • 1-3 win away at Reading

How do you all think we will do?

Do you think we can carry on this run and do the double over Barnsley?

No doubt lots of us will be expecting to win against Barnsley. In theory we have the better players, but they are fighting for their lives as their last few results show.
They beat Reading at the ground where we got murdered for example.
If our players can match the effort and bottle that the Barnsley lads will bring, we should win but I'm not expecting a stroll in the park. My guess is 2 - 1.

I can see Barnsley giving it a good go as well to try and fight to get out of relegation.

I'm going for a 2-2 draw.

Ref watch: Adcock in charge

James Adcock will take charge of Wanderers’ clash with Barnsley this weekend.

A man who has been involved professionally within the game since 2009, the Nottinghamshire based official has overseen 27 games so far this term in the Championship, League One and League Two.

Having been the man in the middle of Blackburn’s 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers in midweek, Adcock was last in charge of a Bolton game back in August when Rangers made the trip to the Reebok Stadium.

Robert Merchant and Darren Strain will run the line, while Michael Naylor is the fourth official.

An early goal will kill this lot off, then again we're not the masters of killing games off so it won't surprise me if we are hanging on for another 2-1 win come the 85th minute.

Opposition watch: Barnsley

With Wanderers currently holding the upper hand in clashes with their Barnsley counterparts with 14 wins as opposed to the Tykes’ 12, last season’s meetings between the two sides were the first in over a decade.

Matches which produced a 1-1 draw at the Reebok Stadium and a 3-2 victory for the Whites at Oakwell back in March of last year, Saturday’s clash at BL6 will see Dougie Freedman’s side aiming to record a league double over Danny Wilson’s men having secured a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture on Boxing Day.

They will however come up against a Barnsley side aiming to climb clear of the Championship drop zone, with the Yorkshire outfit currently residing in 23rd position in the league standings.

After narrowly avoiding relegation to League One on the final day of last season though, the Barnsley faithful will be hoping history can repeat itself as the campaign heads towards its conclusion.

A team who were rock bottom of the Championship at the time of manager Wilson’s return to Oakwell back in December, back-to-back wins against Reading and Yeovil Town last month saw the Tykes narrow the gap between themselves and the teams outside the relegation zone.

With his sights firmly set on steering Barnsley towards safety, Wilson moved to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window with experienced figures such as Liam Lawrence being drafted in, while Emmanuel Frimpong, Martin Woods, Jack Hunt, Ryan McLaughlin and Nick Proschwitz all made respective moves to Oakwell.

The form of striker Chris O’Grady has certainly been crucial in Barnsley’s bid to remain a member of the second tier of English football, with the frontman having signed permanent terms last summer following a successful loan spell with the club.

With 13 goals to his name during the current campaign – almost a third of the team’s entire league haul – the former England youth international notched against the Whites in last season’s meeting at Oakwell and will remain a threat come kick off on Saturday afternoon.

Currently sitting five points shy of 21st placed Charlton Athletic who boast a game in hand, Barnsley come up against the Addicks next Tuesday evening – a game which could arguably define each side’s season.

Despite having picked up form of late with just one defeat in their last four outings, Wilson and his side will be more than aware of the tough run-in which they face during the final weeks of the campaign with the likes of Derby County and Queens Park Rangers yet to come.

Having proven their critics wrong last season however, the Tykes will be hoping for a case of déjà vu in their bid to retain their Championship status.

No doubt, another tight game, as Danny Wilson is no mug and a very experienced Championship manager.
