I hope Rickie Lambert's got a nice cushion...

Given that Liverpool spent all last season playing a game based round the pace up front provided by Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling, I can't see where Lambert's going to fit in.

Which leads me to think he's been bought as a bench-warmer, who Rodgers can sling on for the last ten minutes if Liverpool need to start lumping it into the box because they're desperate for a goal. (Like they were against Chelsea at home.)

£4m is cheap enough, I suppose, so it's not like when they signed Andy Carroll.

Just can't see him starting many games......

Agree. Seems a strange signing for Liverpool.

Decent player, not sure how he fits into the Liverpool system to be honest, like you say.

Move seems more about sentiment.

Shocked about them signing Lambert, he'll have a huge dose of piles come the end of next season.

Hmmm from Rochdale to Liverpool in the space of a few years.....If he was 27/28 then I could have understood it but he must be past his peak at 32.

Strange move.

Southampton play in a similar style to Liverpool, so I don't think he'll have trouble from that perspective. Rodgers has basically decided he needed a decent back up/plan b and didn't want to shell out more for somebody likely to be unproven in the premier league.
