As of Thursday, when I heard Dougie say:

We all know we're "not good enough without strikers" but that's hardly the point, is it?

I don't think anybody truly expected anything spectacular today and most would've been over the moon with a point.

However, what I was hoping for was some indication of progress on the pitch.

What little money we have spent has gone on defenders and midfielders, but after that abomination today, you'd never know it.

That was a very poor display today and we could (or should) have been on the end of a much heavier defeat.

I know it's early days, but the signs throughout pre-season and again today have hardly been inspiring.

I know we're massively in debt and Freedman's been tasked with shipping out the dead wood and reducing the wage bill and blah blah and all that off-field bollocks, but he's had all summer to devise a system that suits the players we've got and implement it and it doesn't look like he has.

And if we carry on like this on the pitch, all the other stuff he's doing for Gartside will mean fuck all because we will wind up in League 1 playing in an empty stadium.

We need results on the pitch now but I don't think he's capable of delivering them because he still looks like a novice manager who isn't bright enough to adapt when he needs to.

What pisses me off is that we didnt give ourselves a fighting chance from the start thanks to Freedman.

He'd be guaranteed to play out of his skin. 

This match was massive. We've not started a Championship season positively since we got relegated.

Anything less than a convincing draw was always gonna fill the fans with that all too familiar dreary feeling and set us on our way for another season of booing, moaning, negativity in general.

And what better way to tell fans that this season will be just like the last than to make the same old depressing decisions, followed by the same outcomes.

Imagine the positivity going into the Forest game if we'd beaten Watford away on the opening day. Was it seriously not worth the "risk" of setting out today to win? I put risk in inverted commas because we're clearly no stronger defensively for playing the careful way Dougie prefers.

I dunno what's worst about Freedman, that his tactics are crap or that he's got the footballing spirit of Megson. Either way, I can't believe there are still people that are fans.

Forest will be itching for next Saturday, we haven't had a great record against them home and away since we got relegated - with them winning today aswell will make it even more of a challenge.

We started last season with a decent point at Burnley and we went onto our worst start in about 100 years, so god knows what kind of run we are going to go on now after today's horror show.
