Just about anything done to excess has a downside, hence the term 'excess' However, as mentioned by Breaders, these things take turns to hit the headlines, and reappear some time later, still unresolved, or fully proven. The nanny state will roll on, personal choice, and the filing away of civil rights will continue until we are all grey people, living exactly how the state wants us to, with virtually no free will. George Orwell may have called it '1984' but that's the only thing he got wrong, when he wrote the book. Its all a matter of time.

Which is physically impossible to do as our bodies produce alcohol - albeit in small doses.

But, also, almost 100% of medicines contain some element of alcohol.
Worst ones have to be to cough lozengers, such as Strepsils, that do contain a moderate amount of alcohol!

The government belly ache about not enough in the pension pot and make us retire older, but they are concerned about us slowly killing ourselves. How's that work?

I've always found that to fully enjoy the "buzz" that Strepsils can offer, it's best to wash them down with a large G&T.
Or six........
