Round-up of the club's loan players and their exploits on the opening weekend of the new season

Of the three Whites currently temporarily plying their trade away from Macron Stadium, two made competitive debuts for their respective clubs during the opening weekend of the Football League season.

Under the terms of his loan agreement, Republic of Ireland international Keith Andrews was ineligible to make his debut for the Hornets this weekend, with the midfielder instead watching from the sidelines at Vicarage Road as Watford claimed a 3-0 victory against Wanderers.

Kicking off in the first Football League match of the season on Friday night, Alex Baptiste completed the full 90 minutes as Blackburn came from behind to earn a share of the points in their 1-1 draw with Cardiff City.

Finally, 22-year-old Joe Riley came through Oxford United’s opening day clash against Burton Albion, completing the full 90 minutes as the U's fell to 1-0 defeat.
