When I got in from the game I caught the end of the QPR/Spurs game - QPR won, as you know. But what got me was the way the fans celebrated the win like they won the cup.

If we won would would have clapped a bit but not celebrated our potential survival. It's like we are either resigned to going down or nobody really believes we are in the bottom three.

Good post. I put it down to the players on the pitch - the fact they don't give a toss transfers itself to the stands. Too many of these players don't give a damn about BWFC, there are no leaders, there is no passion. It'll be no different in the Championship unless Coyle is removed.

I suggested on another forum if we went down we'd be looking at the lower end of the championship and was lambasted as a WUM.

For very similar reasons that sluffy stated, i suspect we'll struggle.

that said, the championship is an odd league, teams come from nowhere, teams you expect to struggle sometimes walk it.

Can we save this until after the Villa game?

You're right, you NEVER, EVER know.

We might pick up a bit of form and end up safe.

It really is time to clamp down on the WUMs.

Lose at Villa and I'll have any open-minded optimism that remains surgically removed. But please give me a couple of days to prepare.

Our current situation is almost irrelevant when looking forward. Our future, in whatever division, is empty, made worse by the two tits in charge.

Yeah, you can see the drive and passion of players like Al Habsi at Wigan - even when he was on loan there last season. I can't think of a single Bolton player who shows that kind of enthusiasm. Steinsson comes closest.

Got to disagree, I think a lot of our players are trying hard now.

Ricketts, Wheater, Steinsson and Ream all try hard.

Petrov effort has improved massively since he first joined. Reo-coker and prats do, Eagles was trying harder against Swansea.

N'gog works hard.

I don't think we should confuse effort for ability.

We are still VERY much in this relegation battle. Two games in hand.

Qpr still have to play Chealsea and City

Blackburn have Tottenham and Chelsea

And there's the Wigan Blackburn game

I think most our players try hard, they're just not very good.

Every time a team goes down the fans say it is because they don't have enough heart of passion. It's a cliche.

Passion and Heart is incredibly difficult to quantify isn't it.

but what most seem to class it as is not allowing the opposition to breathe, flying into tackles, closing the keeper down, chasing down lost causes.

I wouldn't exactly say we'd rank high on a list of them things.

in fact most of the goals we concede are either because of calamitous defending, or allowing the opo far too much time on the ball.

We've always had shit players, but in the past they've been shit players with passion.

You're talking utter shite if you think Eagles, Petrov & co are putting in maximum effort - they've simply upped their game from 10% to 25%. Did anyone watch Wigan at Arsenal on Monday - they closed down Arsenal at every opportunity giving them no room to play, that's the sort of fucking effort I want.

We haven't always had shit players..

We have had good players on high wages which is why we are 110mill in debt.

We've had the odd good player during the Allardyce era, but generally we've had Championship standard players with spirit - which is often why Allardyce signed them.

Allardyce was the master of getting big names to sign, we had some amazing players during his years.

Yeah, one or two at a time, but the bulk of the squad were rejects.

considering you thought Okocha was shit, I'm not surprised you thought we had mainly championship players during the BSA years.

Okocha was great for BWFC because he put us on the map and that lead to some good players joining us.

But his actual impact on the pitch was minimal, the best sideways passer since John Barnes.

Rejects from who? the bulk of our squad were not rejects.

Having the likes of Speed, Jay Jay, Jussi, Ben Haim, Stelios, Campo, Nolan and SKD in your team at the same time isn't a team of rejects.

I can understand why you get overly critical of Coyle and our team now given the situation we are in, but to say we had a poor squad under Big Sam? are you sure you wern't watching Wycombe Wanderers by mistake?
