Owhine's sniffing about again, maybe he's not satisfied at damaging just three Lancashire clubs.

A right couple of desperate cases, Blackpool FC and Coil....

I just cannot see any manager worth his salt even considering the Blackpool job. It's a poisoned chalice as long as the Oyston's run the club.

It's a job where Coyle can't fail IMO, he would be walking into the job with no expectations what so ever - if he keeps them up he will be hailed the saviour, but if they go down nobody will bat an eyelid.

Copper, you bastard!

I read the title and thought Freedman was off to the Fylde Coast......

As for Columba......

If they're daft enough to entertain him, they deserve everything that they will eventually get.

Training with balls today, gaffer?

"Yeah, the best way to get back to The Barclays Praimyur League is to buy some of them blue plastic footballs they sell on The Prom for 99p, go on the beach and have a run about in our shorts for a bit.......and then play Ping Pong."

Douglas may lie Breadman but he'll struggle to get to the full blown Pinocchio stage that Coil was at.

Here's someone else trying to nick his limelight......

There is a difference though, Copps.

Salmond's a prick with a personal political agenda which is just about being remembered in the history books as the man who gave Scotland their independence from England.

He's not bright enough to work out that being remembered as such in 100 year's time won't be a good thing because Scotland will suffer if they vote "yes", he will be held retrospectively responsible and his ginger kids will have to emigrate and change their names and pretend they're nowt to do with him.

Personally, I don't give a shit.

Let 'em get on with it and then fuck 'em off when they come crawling back after it's all gone tits up and they're living in crofts and eating peat.

Coyle's just a useless Teuchter bastard.

That's the difference.

Agree with you Breaders, but there's no chance of them coming back. As they say in these flash sales, 'when they're gone, they're gone'

Jose Riga’s troubled term as Blackpool manager looks set to come to an end, with Owen Coyle high on the list of candidates to replace him.

The Gazette understands the relationship between Riga and chairman Karl Oyston has completely broken down and the Belgian’s departure could be confirmed today.

The 57-year-old is on the brink of a Bloomfield Road exit after only six games in charge – the shortest term in office in the club’s history, halving Michael Appleton’s record of 12 games in 2012-13.

Riga left for a family holiday in Belgium after last weekend’s defeat at Millwall and has made no contact with Bloomfield Road since the transfer window closed on Monday.

Should Jose Riga’s reign as Blackpool boss end this weekend, the search would begin immediately for Pool’s fifth manager (including long-term caretaker Barry Ferguson) since Ian Holloway moved on in November 2012.

Coyle would be Oyston’s first choice after two attempts to secure his services in recent years.

The 48-year-old Scot has been out of work since his six-month spell at Wigan ended last December and would bring a wealth of experience to Bloomfield Road. The former Celtic striker, who is based in the North-West, guided Burnley to the Premier League in 2009 before moving on the Bolton the following season.

Riga has presided over Pool’s worst ever start to a season – six straight defeats – in a turbulent reign which is not yet three months old.

Having started pre-season training in June with only six players, Riga just about patched a squad together in time for the start of the season.

His time at the club has been overshadowed by constant bickering with Oyston, the Belgian claiming he has never been properly backed by his chairman.

Riga stated last weekend that his squad was not good enough to avoid relegation and that at least four new additions were needed ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

No new players arrived and Pool now look set to start yet another new era, with the so- called ‘Riga Revolution’ at an end.

Riga was yet again unavailable for comment last night as was Oyston, who continues to come under heavy criticism from supporters.

Both the Blackpool Supporters Association and the Supporters Trust slammed Oyston in The Gazette, claiming he had not done enough to drag the club out of its current mess. And Riga’s assistant Bart De Roover branded the club “unprofessional” as he walked out this week.

Burton boss Gary Rowett and former Leeds and Reading manager Brian McDermott would also be high on Oyston’s list of possible replacements for Riga.

Yeah, I know - I was drunk when I wrote that and when I read it the next day I thought "Why have you typed that, you dick? You should have called him a 'Weegie bastard', not a teuchter."

My bad.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

Lee Clark has signed a 1 year rolling contract at blackpool today. They might as well have signed dougie ffs talk about scraping the barrel. He couldn't do anything with brum and blackpool are arguably worse than them. Blackpool are a laughing stock

The fact that Brum got trounced 8 nil at home the first game after Clark left is an indicator of what a good job he was doing with a pile of poo IMO.
Not saying he's a genius, but it looks like they are missing him in the Midlands already.
