This might all end in tears as usual but just at the moment this feels like a BRILLIANT appointment to me.

I'll drink to that. Any appointment would be somewhat of a gamble at this point in time but I'm just happy that they finally got their act together and moved Freedman on. I'm pretty surprised we were able to attract Lennon too, regardless of what some of us may think of his character. Not my first or second choice but I'm pretty pleased all in all.

Up The Whites!

It doesn't matter that it's  been in a 'tattie pie 'league. Its a league that has been as competitive as the lower end of the Championship and therefore he will be well aware of what's required.
To say he has no experience ,and all that sort of stuff is like saying anyone who changes jobs in the same sector is almost doomed to failure. Its managing a  football club- that's all it is- its not brain surgery or astrophysics.
Of course he can manage at this level.

Not many jobs are like brain surgery or like in the field of astrophysics, but if you are making out that managing a football club is easy then you are deluded.

Of course a winning mentality is huge but I don't think his character is up to sorting Bolton out.

I really do expect him walking out within 6 months.

Still, if the Bolton fans are happy with him then my opinion counts for f'kall. afro

I'm a bit late catching up with all this as I'm in New England on holiday (because its the international games) but I'm delighted with this appointment.
I don't really buy all this stuff that he's no experience in the English leagues, or the championship, or a club facing relegation, or a club with no money for transfers, etc.,- none of this is essential for success.
He's a motivator, doesn't stand nonsense, builds attacking teams and has  a track record of winning things.
Give him about 3 competitive games and this team will be different in terms of personnel, tactics and mentality.
There'll be fireworks - but that's better than the last 3 years of utter tedium.
Next home game, I'll be turning up at the Macron with expectations of winning and seeing some decent football.
I won't be disappointed

Wanderlust is going to be busy today, applications for the Happy Clappers are up 500%.

Huge challenge for Lennon and of course there are likely to be problems along the way, but we are getting ahead of ourselves here seeing as we are bottom of the league with a shit divided squad.

Freedman was sacked because of these specific problems and the criteria for selecting the new manager were based around addressing the short term scenario. Lennon is an excellent choice to deal with this IMO. I'm not that concerned about his credentials beyond that - even though he has them in abundance.

And ignore Copper. He's just jealous that our ginger has already achieved more than their ginger ever will.

Here's hoping Lennon does well - he needs to work out which players have been stealing a living off BWFC pretty quickly and start kicking some arses around the place.

Also I hope he keeps his tracksuit manager style on the touchline. I don't know why but I've developed a deep distrust of the grey pullover brigade recently.

Some have said he has no experience in the Champs...but how much do you need to play Rotherham and Blackpool?   I don't know whether this a good or bad appointment but he as all this season to start changing things around.  He is stuck with the financials and the players we have so good luck to him and us.

Are we never satisfied, considering our position, this is a brave and positive appointment, and all this talk of no experience probably comes from the same people who thought Jimmy (Scapegoat) Phillips and David Lee was our dream team, bloody unbelievable really that so many thought that was the way to go.
This based on inside knowledge and knowing how Bolton works , well Coyle bombed, and dare i say the late great Nat couldn't even get his head around managing us. So lets stop whinging and get behing the manager.

If we had gone for Mowbray etc we would be saying that the club had no vision, had Lennon gone to Cardiff or Fulham we would have thought they were progressive, well guess what he signed for us so lets give the manager and the board all the support they need to save our season.

Having managed Celtic, yer man has dealt with abuse and threats we could only imagine so dealing with our ponces will be no problem. Whether it turns out well or not time will tell, but I have to say it looks like a good appointment by PG.

Well said, and though I have reservations, more than happy to give him a fair crack of the whip

I've been really impressed with how Neil has conducted himself in the last 2 days, albeit results will speak for themselves but I am very confident he can deliver the right results.
