I have just become numb to the situation.
When it happened, I was shocked, devastated, it even made me rethink my views on life, and I was checking for news updates hourly at least. News that he was going to pull through was better than any I've heard all season.
But I'm now well over it, and I don't even bother reading the stories that come up in the papers about it. I keep reading here and there that he's going to be at tonight's match but I've not even stopped to think about it. I just keep my fingers crossed that he'll be able to play again (for him more than the club), but until a conclusion's reached on that, I don't care if the issue doesn't crop up again.
If that sounds insensitive, well I know I wouldn't want such a fuss created over me if I had a cardiac arrest, which is probably just as well since I'm a mere trainee accountant, not a footballer.
