After reading bwfc71's intro tonight, I had to go out and get myself 4 cans of Heineken. It's a treat for me as it's hard to justify paying so much for lager, no matter how good it is, but I can't deny Heineken is the best. Amstel's similar tasting but for some reason can only be found in Tesco these days where it's extortionate.
Pernoi's another nice one but is the dearest on the shelf and I love a drink of Efes in Turkey, but over here being an imported beer it's also too expensive.
I don't mind the South American beers but with the exception of Brahma, they're some more rip offs.
Stella is the only lager I think really ticks both boxes of being affordable and good-tasting.
I find some of the more popular ones like Budweiser, Fosters and Carling quite dull. And Carlsberg is the closest one to being undrinkable.
I'm confident that most people who've been to Cyprus will vouch for me that the beer on offer there (Keo and Leon?) could be better.
But we all have different tastes, so discuss...
