Apparently they taste wonderful if thinly sliced, raw, added to fennel tops and lemon juice, sprinkled with cumin seeds. Think I have lived in the South too long. Alternatively, boil them to buggery, and throw straight in the bin and avoid the middle man...

Used to hate sprouts as a kid, but love them nowadays. Isn't it strange you don't like the same things as a child than you do now, I think it's something to do with your tastebuds being different.

Fry up some bits of fatty bacon or lardons till the fat is rendering
Blanche sprouts for 2 mins in boiling water then drain and add to the bacon for a couple more minutes or until the bacon is crisp, seasoning well. Perfect al dente and flavoursome sprouts.

My sister's husband's from Bedford and he came up a few years ago and did 'em like that with chopped nuts in 'em other poncey shit.

Still tasted like sprouts though, ie wank.
