It's just really refreshing to hear a politician actually give a straight answer.
Throw in his Socialist leanings and he's ticking a lot of boxes for me.
Naive? Maybe.
Will he last? Probably not.
But he's proving that there is still a place for real people in British politics who aren't all career politico's who are only interested in furthering their own careers.
And that's got to be a good thing.

I don't really give a stuff about what happens at Westminster because nothing really changes but for the first time in ages (since John Smith died) I actually feel that the Parliamentary Labour Party is being lead by a bloke who sees things like I do.
And that's probably about as good as it will ever get in my lifetime.

Corbyn will have to up his game 1000% if he's going to make any impression on the general electorate.
The fact that he's been in politics over 40 years you'd expect him to have learned how to play the game.
Nationalising utilities and rail will be in excess of £130 billion apparently, scrapping trident will cost jobs, all stuff the tories will latch onto. Furthermore his Sinn Fein leanings will be used to beat him and no doubt more skeletons will emerge.
Much as I like his honesty and straightness he is miles off John Smith and I wouldn't be surprised if he's toast in a couple of years.
Not going to ever be in a position to realise his schoolyard dreams I'm afraid.

I agree he won't get long at all, he just won't get the chance. But at least as long as he's in I think he'll bring the debate to the left and raise some important issues that have been dodged for too long. Saudi Arabia for instance.
I'm all for scrapping Trident by the way, the money could be used for countless more urgent issues and I can't imagine any situation we'd use it? Russia would never Nuke us - and even if they did we'd still have the U.S's arsenal performing the same thing as Trident. The other threat people raise is ISIS, which is equally ridiculous. It's an old school defence when really the threats today are all on a micro level - lone wolf terrorist attacks which nuclear weapons just won't prevent.

I just don't see why we'd ever need them, or how they'd offer any more of a deterrent than the U.S. already does.
I think it's more to do with a false sense of status as a world power, the empires gone and we're a small island in Europe. Time to start behaving like one.
