I'm with Kaz. I never use neutral.

I used to use neutral all the time but after parking it on a hill one day and forgetting the handbrake I watched my car roll down the hill and take out three cars on its way.

I always keep it in gear now, whether driving or parked.

People saying "thank you" to bus drivers.

I actually think the public are better mannered toward bus drivers - who tend to be some of the thickest, least friendly people in society - than they are toward doctors and nurses saving lives.

I know that we all need to be able to see the lights on a car but god knows why they need to be so bright like that!

How's you eye, while we're on the subject?

Mrs B went back for her follow up consult yesterday and she's been discharged.

It was blurred for about ten days after the op but she's fine now, so you've nowt to worry about, mate.
Thanks for asking mate. Smile

After going to see a top eye doctor (I won't mention his name for fear of being sued Very Happy ), he has now said that I have Posterior Vitreous Detachment where he described that I have some "jelly" that has come off my eye.

He said that it is not a tear and that I have to put up with the flashes and learn to live with them and eventually they will go.

The problem is, this all started from when I was T-boned in the car sometime in March 2014 and when I have read up on this, the flashes generally don't last more than 6 months and if so then you should go and see an eye doctor which I have done.

I don't feel confident with the bloke I have seen in a way and thinking to get a second opinion as he wasn't very forthcoming with information.

I also had a full eye test (first time since I was a kid) with various lenses etc on how good my eyes were in general and he said that I had pretty much 20/20 vision which can't be right as I squint when on the PC and reading.

The thing is that the flashes in my right eye are pissing me off and so far there is nothing that can be done.

Glad your Mrs is back to normal with it all now!

Get your GP to refer you to Bolton if you can because they're brilliant.

Mrs B's optician was fucking useless (Boots, Mr Patel - cock! Sue away...) and it was only when we asked for a second opinion that she was sent to the hospital, where the specialist confirmed that the knob at Boots was talking through his arse.

The reason we asked was because he said the same thing as you got told - collagen strips hardening up and pulling on the retina, part of the ageing process, nowt to worry about and nothing he could do.

Mrs B had a violent sneezing fit on holiday and was left with flashing lights and a massive black floater.

I asked if it could be linked and the prick said no.

Turns out her torn retina was indeed down to the trauma from the sneezing and she got a bollocking for not going straight to the hospital.

Get that second opinion, mate because you only get one set of eyes and you can't fanny about with them.

I'm not saying it isn't you jezebel.

The point is, people are more courteous when it comes to bus drivers than they are towards the average fella in most other lines of work.

And for what reason?

They're ignorant, they're bad tempered, they usually make you late for work. What is it about bus drivers of all things that bring out the common courtesy in people?

One of my brothers in law is a bus driver.

And he's an absolute prick, so I'm with Doffy.

If someone drove me from A to B, whether it was in a car, train, bus or plain, I would thank him or her.

Just as I would thank someone who served me in a shop, took my order in a restaurant or gave me a bikini wax.

You're wrong on this issue.

Thanks for that! It looks like I'm going back to the docs. Smile

If you're courteous to everyone - from the fella that drives you to the Reebok to the woman that tidies your garden - that's not the issue I'm talking about, and I don't believe you anyroad.

You seem to be suggesting all bus drivers are ignorant bellends. I haven't been on a bus since I left school but I don't believe your statement to be true.

I worked in a call centre for a short while and it's amazing how small a shit anyone gives about the customers. It's no wonder they have such a bad name because everybody's in the mindset of making everything somebody else's problem.
They teach you all about how to represent the company well, reassuring the customer that you can find them a solution without being too apologetic. Personally I tended to go with "you're right, the whole setup's a shambles", "I'd pass you to my manager but he's as clueless as me", etc, so I didn't last long.

People who leave a big gap in front of themselves in a line of busy traffic. Especially when near traffic lights.

Who gets me on this?

Im looking at a shelf in a busy supermarket. When I see someone coming toward me with a trolley and there isn't much room to the other side of me because of a person or a pallet or a display, I step slightly backward away from the shelf I am still looking at to allow the trolley person through - but they then stop in front of me and park themselves and their trolley in my way and start looking at the shelf i was clearly still looking at, leaving me staring at their backs!

It fucks me off.

People who keep on making up stories about takeovers at a famous local football club.
Its 99% speculation, rumour ,wishful thinking, secular prayer- and eventually disappointing.
