Getting a bit bored at home now. Been messing about on the computer, playing Owzthat('nuts beat a Walt Disney XI by 36 runs) and generally idling away the hours as best I can.
DIY chores are done,so I steamed the stair carpet to pass an hour, then I made a start on BSA's autobiography.(reading, not steaming). Later on I'll probably go on Betfair and have a bet or two, before settling down for the afternoon with a couple of DVD's.( I can thoroughly recommend 'Dean Spanley'.)
The fact is,I'm missing being at work! Even in this weather.
Are you lot happy at work?
Are you out of work, but happy?
Retired,and miserable?
I've got plenty to do at home, but no sense of order. The workplace keeps me under some sort of control.
I've just found a suitcase full of old football programmes. I'm going to make a mess,I know I am.

Yes I am- I like my job and it pays well. And when i get to retirement age the is no pressure to go- so I'll probably go on for a few years.

I've just spent half an hour going back through my work record to try and see how much time I've spent "working" over the last 24 years (when I started).

I've worked for 17 different companies during that period, (4 permanent jobs, the rest self-employed contracting / consulting.)

The average length of time spent in a permanent role is just over 3 years.

The average self-employed contract length is about 6 months. (Although there are a couple of biggies in there which were 18 months each which drag the average up.)

So this means that I've basically spent roughly 4.5 years of my working life doing cock all.

A bit like a certain someone who shall remain nameless and who sits in an office at the Macron all day.......

(And it probably also explains why I spend so much time talking absolute bollocks on here.)

i've been in the same job for 20 years but when you take into account how much time i spend on Nuts in the day i've probably only worked for two thirds of that time  Very Happy

In the toilets? Did anyone see?

You need to nip this in the bud immediately.
