Justice at last!

Well, it's been a long wait but finally, as the sun shines down on another glorious day in the north west of England, it looks like a 26 year old wrong is about to be righted.

There are still a few of us left who can remember clearly how events unfolded back then and we have waited over a quarter of a century to see those responsible finally held accountable.

And today is that day.

This fella used to be a referee in the Horwich Sunday League and he was bent.

The team I played for (The Doffcocker Inn) played The Bromilow Arms in a cup final.

And everybody knew that The Bromilow was his local and he frequented the place regularly.

During the match he gave them everything and sent a couple of our lads off for sod all, resulting in them winning the game.

We complained to the league's hierarchy and then the L.F.A. but got nowhere.

They said we were being bitter and rejected our claims of a cover up out of hand.

But finally, after all these years, we've got our proof that he's bent:
