A like button

Another forum that I post on has just introduced a "Like it" button.
Surely it can only encourage people to post more?

How does having a "like" button encourage people to post?

We don't mind you saying the other forum is Bolton Mad, even though - get this - I got permission from a mod on there, to post a link to here (prior to actually doing so), then got banned for life from the site by the site moderator who as completely blanked all my requests to discuss this matter - and an appeal from the mod on my behave stating that I had his permission to post the link and that if anybody was in the wrong then it was he (the mod) not I.

The site mod completely blanked this mod too!

If I were he I would have resigned and left rather than to be treated with no common courtesy or respect what so ever.

Anyway back to the thread. Personally I find stuff like posting a 'thank you' to someone pointless and childish - its a forum, SAY thank you and why you think the post is good - not simply send a 'tick box' reply.

For that reason I am out.

Be interesting to see what others think though?
