I'm tempted to switch off,and watch yet another episode of Last Of The Summer Wine.
I'm seeing a 4-0 win for us. Might give it 20 minutes.

Yes. In between watching Compo riding down a hill on an armchair.

Did we win?

Went out for a meal at that new Italian place in Nelson Square that Fabrice Muamba opened last week.

60 quid for two bowls of pasta plus drinks.

Nice enough but Mrs B could've done that on a tenner.

But then again, she's always been shit at breaking up play and laying it off to someone who can pick a pass, so each to their own I suppose.

Yeah 3-0. The score flattered England a little. Fairly even first half but the Scots wilted after about 70 minutes and it was all England after that.
Scott Brown was the most industrious person on the pitch and Stones remains as a risky liability

i did watch it, England were very poor in the first half, too much fannying about at the back. Scotland had chances early in the 2nd half and should have equalised but they lack the quality we have upfront

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

Sterling infuriates me sometimes though. He reminds me of Walcott, running down blind alleys and no end product. Missed a sitter as well. There's so much potential there but I don't think he'll ever fully realise it.

I'm in Scotland at the moment- up here for a week. People here are getting really fed up with Bravetart!!
The mood is changing - they want a proper first minister and not a predictable opportunist.

Didn't one of the Scottish papers have a completely black back page?

No- it was blank. A black page uses ink and that would be a waste of money!!

What a great description of her, all she ever does is jump on bandwagons with a load of ra-ra rhetoric

edit - that was weird the quote didn't appear

Agree completely. As with most politicians, they appear with lots of plans, and gusto, and then settle into their roles.
Bravetart, (I love that name), came in with all sorts of plans, which went straight out the window when the oil prices nosedived.
My missus is a Jock, but even so, I like the Scots, (Very Happy ), and their country, but this woman is seriously pissing people off with her repeated moaning. She's turning into a one trick pony, but more importantly, she's getting nowhere, and the country's finances are getting seriously depleted, (by all accounts).

I'm not one to completely write managers off before they've hardly started, but I've never been as confident of anything in my life as Southgate being another total England failure.

It made me laugh on TalkShite earlier.

"The thing is, the players clearly want this appointment, they all clearly support Southgate in getting the job."

I wonder why that is?!

You can completely imagine Gareth knocking this bunch of prima donnas into touch can't you...

Of course they're 100% behind him. Because he's yet another soft touch with absolutely no personality, and absolutely no drive or ability to knock the stinking attitude out of English players.

I think he'd have been the FA's first choice even if Scotland had won, but it'd have been well worth losing to them if it had driven him out of contention.

Southgate is just a waste of yet another major competition from an England point of view.

We'll never win anything (or even come close) until the FA and the Premier League do what the Germans did after they were humiliated at Euro 2000.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/may/23/germany-bust-boom-talent

The big difference is, however, that the national team winning things is actually quite important to your average German football fan, whereas over here, it's all about how many (average) foreign players your club can sign and pay 80 grand a week to play average football.

Because Sky says so.

It will never change.

Another issue is the "good 'ol shift" ......  the typical British supporter and manager for that matter can't get around that one.  Players that hump up and down the pitch to are just grand if they put in that shift. But a skilled player is deemed lazy or only playing for the money etc etc...
Using one of our own for example ..... Klasnic barely broke a sweat in a normal game but had finishing skills not seen since at BWFC.  I recall supporters calling him lazy at the time.
I think we can agree that the Europeans have always fancied skill over pure work rate. Seems that way to me anyhow.
