How many Valentine Day cards did you get?

I booked a table at the Walpole with a 6 course taster menu at £50 a head. TBF I was thinking of the brownie points. As it turned out, the missus had flu and managed a bowl of soup and half a bottle of Malbec. Gutted. 

And belated happy valentine's Manda - we love you even if those bastards in Bath don't know what they're missing.

Valentine's Day wasn't meant for married couples, or people already in a relationship.
Once again, another tradition has been taken over by the commercial blood suckers. They've already got their claws into Christmas, Easter, Bonfire Night, Halloween, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Stick A Vegetable Up Your Arse Day, and many more.
If you don't buy the wife a present, you're unromantic, and face the prospect of eating ground glass with your porridge.
And can anyone tell me what's wrong with Maltesers? They're bloody chocolates aren't they?

I got full marks for giving a box of Niederegger  Marzipan selection, plus three small boxes of Monty Bojangles Truffles.

This means I will have to eat half of them now! It's a cruel world!

Mrs got some roses and a card.

I got the Mrs a bottle of Perfume. I didn't want to stretch to paying for a card so she didn't get one.
