Holden undergoes another Knee Op

According to Coyle Holden underwent another "clean out" operation recently.

That will add further time to his recovery no doubt.

Coyle said: “I spoke to him the other night after the game and he sounded in a good place in terms of the type of character he is. His first concern, because of the type of lad he is, is to ask about everybody else.


“He’s doing well at this moment in time. He had a cleanout operation three weeks ago and is feeling a lot better from that.


“It’s one of those ones that we have to do in Stuart’s own time. We have to give him as much time as we can until he feels that both physically and mentally it’s time for him to step things up.


“What he’s had to do recently has been minimal if truth be told, but he has been doing well.


“I sent him over his home and away match jerseys last week, as well as his training tops to provide him with a little bit of a boost and equally knowing that sooner rather than later that he would be using those.


“He returns to see the specialist in the next few weeks who will have a look and see how things are going. Then, if that has been a good chat, as opposed to the minimal training he’ll then start to step things up.

think coyle is setting the club (and the fans) up for a fall on this one...

If your name is Owen Coyle, you can't win with Rebel.

If he comes out and says "Holden is fucked" then people will say he is making excuses.

If he comes out and says 'Holden will be involved, hopefully soon', he is "setting the fans up for a fall".

I just think he KNOWS Holden is fucked but is holding out in hope for him not to be... and not telling the fans his true thoughts...

If he said 'Holden' is fucked' id think this was him telling the truth...

Fair enough, but others would interpret 'Holden is fucked' as Coyle making excuses.

I think this "clean out" op is probably what they had planned last time.

if he would have said something like... 'sordel missed 9 sitters last week as he was a bit tired' is an excuse.

saying 'holden is not going to play again' is being honest with the fans and preventing us from hanging on in hope...

A lot of types of surgery cause a build up of blood and other fluids in the area, which then need to be drained off to prevent swelling. He could have walked round with a drain attached to his leg for months on end, or a minor operation instead, which is what this was.

I've said it before, I would be amazed if Holden ever plays for Bolton again.

We live in hope. Don't think you can read too much into the article other than if he is recovering he won't be playing any time soon.

I'd have desire & hunger if someone was paying me £20k per week to Tweet.

I can't remember the last time a player was injured for over 18 months and recovered fully again. My worry is if Holden is not playing first team football this side of Christmas, he'll never be the same player again.
