I do think that Mr. Gardner has already been looked after quite well by BWFC and don't see why a special case should be made for him.

I can't be arsed looking up the records but just how many starts did he make in his 13/14 seasons at Bolton? He spent an interminable amount of time on the treatment table and yet always seemed to get a new contract. I think he has had more than his fair share off of BWFC and that while hanging round the training ground he might do something for it, like take a grounds-keeping course and contribute something useful.

I'm all for this "family club" (TM P.Gartside) atmosphere at our club but I'm getting a bit fucked of with the sentimentality around the place. It's getting a bit sickly. If we started having a more hard headed approach to our game and the situation we're in then we might start to get somewhere with it. I'm pretty sure it's sentiment that's keeping Coyle here at the moment and it was the same with several players that we should probably have fired off long before they went. Jussi was a busted flush and should have been got shut of 2 seasons ago in favour of Al- Habsi for example. Covering old ground I know but you get my point. Fuck Gardner, he leached a lot of cash from the club for no return.

So Hat, do you think there is a need for some sort of ambassador? I certainly don't and don't understand why you've raised the possibility of such a non-job.

The only 'ambassadors' we need are out in the middle (and in the dug-out) showing the world that Bolton Wanderers is a decent football club and what has been on display for the last 18 months or so is but a bad dream.
