Old news Hipster - from 2 weeks ago -

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock says he has spoken to the club about his possible successor.

Warnock, whose side lost 2-1 at home to Huddersfield on Saturday, has made no secret of his plans to leave if Leeds do not reach the Premier League.

"Once we're out of contention they know I won't be having another year in the Championship," he said.

"We've spoken about my successor, about people coming in if mathematically it's impossible to get into the play-offs."

Leeds United have appointed former Reading boss Brian McDermott as their new manager on a three-year deal.

The new manager of Leeds United has the same name as the head coach of Leeds Rhinos. The Rhinos coach has won two Grand Finals and one World Club Challenge in his two seasons with the club.

It's like musical chairs at the moment.
Noticed OC still hasn't got one.

I love weird little sporting oddity's like that, earlier in the season the fixture Huddersfield v Wigan at the John Smith Stadium happened twice in the same weekend, rugby saturday, footy sunday.

This Brian McDermott one takes the cake though, it's not as if it's a common name. So for two different Brian McDermott's to manage Leeds United AFC and Leeds Rhinos RLFC is just bizarre.

Some Leeds sources have said that it was between him and McDermott for the job.

Norman Hunter had said publicly he hoped it would be between McDermott and Coyle.

McDermott v Coyle.

McDermott every time for me. Leeds will definitely be there or thereabouts next season when it comes to promotion.
