1Board to loosen the purse strings? Empty Board to loosen the purse strings? Wed Sep 25 2013, 11:32

The next move in the transfer market made by Dougie Freedman might very well be his most important since taking over the Reebok reigns a little under a year ago.

Indications behind the scenes suggest Wanderers could be about to loosen the purse strings enough to allow Freedman scope for one or two new signings, possibly before this weekend’s clash with Yeovil Town.

“We might need to bring in one or two different types of characters. That’s the Plan B – we have to go to try and get some momentum,” he said after the final whistle.

“There is no question the players here have ability but their mind-set needs to change.”

It's by no means too late, but this Board must drive managers to distraction. Are they completely incapable of sticking to a plan or do they just cave in after a few bad results? I sometimes think that they are more interested in appeasing the fans than getting the club back on to solid foundations.
Appalling leadership IMO.

And we're basing all this on pure speculation from the BN.

I honestly don't think you will see any movement until the outcome of the Yeovil game has been decided.

There is a lot of football left to be played - this team needs a catalyst and if Dougie is allowed to bring in one or two, you'd be surprised at how this team can kick on. Brum brought in Jesse Lingard and in his first game he scored 4 goals... Doncaster Rovers brought in Macheda and he scored a brace on his first outing. It is entirely possible - just keep calm and support Bolton.

That is a very worrying comment, his job is to not only get the best out of the players ability wise but to get them in the right mindset. If he is saying he has to bring in new players because the players mindset is wrong then surely he isn't doing his job.

News of a new loan signing should be up on the BN website in the next few minutes.

It's Neil Danns from Leicester

I can't see Danns making much of a difference. We need a good CB.

Does Dougie intend to sign up any more Palace rejects? Looks suspiciously like he is turning into a clone of Owen - remember all the talent he signed from Burnley?
