Awful in every game he played in, exploited by every opposition manager and at the first opportunity he was replaced by the poor Alonso, an out of position Ricketts and then booted out to a Championship club, where he has also done poorly. The Macclesfield fans could not believe what they were seeing in our 3 games against them this season, and they are bottom of league two.

Aaron - you'd better vote for Paul Robinson.

Don't worry yourself about it, I have done.

For the Chelsea at home performance alone he gets my vote....very tempted to vote for Pratley though.

I went for Muamba bearing in mind the huge transfer fee and how much we needed him to perform without Holden. We needed him to step up to the plate as the club's most expensive midfield player but he didn't.A huge let down and perhaps Coyle didn't play him as much because he knew of his health problems.

Robinson was worse than Muamba but cost under 1/5 of the fee and i've voted in proportion to what we got for the transfer fee.

£7 mill was a good price for a player who played in the worst defence in the league, we wouldn't have got any more since we didnt even get an offer that high in the summer (£6 mill from Arsenal was the best I think).

Muamba has been ok this season, show by the fact that everyone got pissed off when Coyle kept dropping him and playing Prats, he was stong and worked hard, ive always thought he plays his defensive midfield role very well.

The price doesnt matter, as someone said earlier its a worst player of the season award, not the most disappointing player of the season award.

Muamba hasn't been the worst by any stretch IMO, he started to work up a good partnership with NRC earlier this year but for some reason OC decided to drop him and replace him with Pratley who is the worst centre mid I have seen for a long while in a white shirt, I only didn't vote for him because OC keeps playing him and it's not his fault he is so poor.

+ at least Prats has scored at tries, there have been plently this season who don't try (having said that I went for Robinson who actually does try hard but is just not good enough )

Whoever voted for Muamba is just a complete and utter troll, no question.

I'll have a guess that it was Bolton Hater.

Thought this thread was going to be about the BN worst player so was going to vote for myself.
Miyaichi has been too lightweight with no end product. Tuncay a shadow of the player he was. Time seems to have caught up with the older players and the young signings don't seem ready. Where do you begin in a negativity fest?

It's not right to name the worst player .....I won't do it.....but as others have said some are disappointing. Ream is in for Knight but if you can tell me what is better about him you're a better man than me. Mark Davo seems to be overrated and Ngog is doing an Elmo on us.....maybe he will come good next year. Ryo looks like he is not ready after a promising start. I always thought Cahill was overrated which I still believe is the reason nobody came in with the big money.
So we have a bunch of journeyman players. That's all there is to it.

Knight is bigger but is slower than Ream so Ream is better.

Knight is taller and wins everything in the air at free kicks and corners.

Knight stands about 6ft away from anyone he is marking and pushes high up the pitch despite his lack of pace required to get back in the defensive line, and when he does push high he has absolutely 0 skill or control so has no impact. He thinks he is much better than he is and continually blames others around him. His heading is ok but has no direction at all and usually goes straight to the opossition anyway, you would have though a header like him should be a goal threat from corners but he just isn't, is it one goal he has scored? and it wasn't a header.. (not that scoring is particularly important for a defender, but with someone of his stature he should be a threat)

Ream has good positioning, good skill and ability, works hard, good teamwork, well timed tackles. He is weak in the air but this is the one skill of a footballer can usually be improved to at least a satisfactory standard, even N'gog has dramatically improved his strength this year and he looks like a toothpick, hopefully he will bulk up in the summer.

I like Ream, I think him and Wheater make a good pair. Pace timing and skill mixed with strength and aerial ability, both with a good work ethic.

Twice the pairing of Knight and Cahill and I think about half the price? *Cough* Megsons pairing *Cough*

Fair enough. I can't see all those attributes about Ream myself but I'll bow to superior knowledge. And I'm not saying he is no good.... I'm just saying I can't see what makes him an automatic choice.

Jury is still out on Ream, for me. Don't see any do-or-die tackles. no bullying of the oppostiion, and generally keeps a low profile. However, having said that, being so quiet could well indicate that he is always in the optimum position, and doesn't need any desperate lunges. As I sadi, still watching.

Still can't make my mind up on Ream, his strength is obviously his athletisism and he looks comfortable on the ball. However my main worry with him is he tends to try and get infront of the attacker which has cost us at least one goal from what I remember. (Newcastles 2nd goal)

To be fair to Ream he is one player that Coyle did put straight into the team and given his background I think he has made a good start. He is certainly a better defender than Knight and appears to work well with Wheater. He is not the finished article but he looks like a good long term prospect for us.

He did make a bad mistake against Newcastle but apart from that i think he's been excellent.

one thing he is very good at is passing, long and short, even under pressure.

definitely not the finished product defensively but if we do go down i'd expect him to be a top player in that league.

I think he would do well in the championship, most centre backs in that league are like zat knight, not many with pace and good ball control.

I can't complain about him that much, between him or Knight I know who I would rather have. Can pick a decent pass aswell.
