Same with cricket bats.

I got a Duncan Fearnley one from Len Tobbutt's when I was about eleven or twelve and he kept it locked under the stairs and only gave it to me when I was off up to Heaton for training on a Friday night or playing for Smithills on a Saturday morning.

Looking back, he was a right bastard.

Len Tobbutts! used to but all my sports stuff from there as well. I had a white cricket bat that was endorsed by Geoff Boycott (it was a foot wide)
that i was told to clean with cif to get rid of the red marks.

I had one of them!

Slazenger with a green badge and the word "Polyarmour" in the back?

It looked like it had been painted with brilliant white gloss.

I think it's still locked up under the stairs at my Dad's..... Very Happy

Got my first bat from Salters in Farnworth. Priming it with linseed oil was a must in those days, and if my memory serves,it lasted me about 20 years.
Probably because I only used the edges.

Len Tobbutts is still there although he moved across the road practically facing where his shop used to be before ASDA knocked down the row of shops to extend the car park.

It is just called Tobbutts now though!

still having issues with fifa15. we can only play as international sides, anyone else and the ball is invisible. Is this linked to a recent update?

There was a recent update that has made the gameplay absolutely terrible. Keepers are absolutely shocking now, can't save anything, the defenders have no intelligence at all anymore. I stopped playing it now because if I want to see things like that I can at the Macron.

I was going to say. Useless keepers and retarded defenders..........its a joe hart and john Terry virus rather than an update

Did you "knock it in" as well, sir?

Did you....?

Knock it in....?

Oooh! Knocking it in's very important, isn't it sir?

Giving your blade a good, solid knocking......

Oooh!

I love The Fast Show, me. Very Happy

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

It's one of those things people will buy for nostalgic reasons and then play it a few times and wonder why they bothered and it spends the rest of its time in the back of the storage cupboard.

They have just announced who will be on the cover of the next Fifa game. The American and Canadian version have two women who played at the World cup alongside Lionel Messi.

The English version was voted by the public and has got Jordan Henderson on the front. They really shouldn't let the English public vote on anything, first the Conservatives now this.
