Daniel Hughes is a young Northern Irish striker, Kuipers is a dutch center back think he plays in the Dutch first division? Don't know much about either but they're the right ages and price I suppose!

All the deals we've done are with a view to a perm deal according to nixon. Janko is out of contract in the summer so should be cheap

It's too early to say how good these players will be, but one thing has changed with the club... and that's a good thing.  We now are looking at price and availability in a smart business like manner.  As unfortunate it was to lose CYL, it was a £500,000-1,000,000 business decision.  This is all a look to next season and finding players who meet our needs.  No more 3 year Andrews contracts that were absurd today. Perhaps Gartside finally has the right manager who will balance the books and get us promoted?  Time will tell, but we needed some good business acumen and distance ourselves from the past mistakes made by a number of our so called "managers," more like "manglers."

I thought that the loans were with a view to permanent deals as well. The other point to note is that the squad is getting younger, leaner, hungrier. Lennon is assembling a squad of talent that wants to do well and who will fight for themselves, for him and for the club.

Exactly my point of business acumen. We can't afford not to be smart any longer.  We need to be a lean, mean, fighting machine!

But surely if Lennon had some business acumen he'd have ditched the donkeys and not replaced them with younger donkeys.

I'd rather have seen one quality player than 6 shit ones.

Only time will tell if the business was good in this window.

They've been at the club for 1 day and they're already donkeys.

You may be right or you may be wrong. Give them a chance on the pitch before you bring the wrath of Nat down upon them.

The Bulgarian Lampard is a solid, no frills, box-to-box type of player who will harass the stuffing out of opposition midfielders while Rochinha and Filip have silky dribbling and passing skills with an eye for the brilliant shot. Bannan has shown promise for years now and just needs the right environment in which to flourish.

Personally I've never been much of a Bannan fan, but I've only seen him in the premier league where he's not quick or strong enough to hold his own in midfield. He offers something we don't have though and could be a great signing for us if Lennon can get him going.

Add in Mavies to the mix for a few games near the end of season and a few others back before then and we might have a decent team on the park.  Trouble is I feel it's a bit too late for a good run this season but you have to keep trying and see what happens.
