I dont think we will get barton. But for all the baggage he comes with i still wouldnt mind him. We could soon have a cons xi. Whats stig tofting up to these days

I guess if there is any truth in it then the idea would be to play Ream probably with Wheater as the centre back pairing now that Mills as gone, or play Ream as the linking player just in front of the back three/four.

So we haven't done anything of note since releasing 13 players a fortnight ago. I can hardly contain myself with all this excitement.

On a more serious note, I know it's very early and the window isn't officially open yet but I am concerned that Neil still doesn't seem to have a hard number for how much he has to spend. Couldn't the board have said something like :

"Neil, without outside investment you've got £x to play with. Plan on that and if anymore comes in we'll tell you and make more available but right now this is what you have."

At least that way he'd have a basis on which to plan his recruitment. I suppose they might have done that already but from press reports and Neil's statements it doesn't seem to be that way.
