Liverpool in for new keeper

Could Liverpool be about to seal another signing?

The Reds are on the lookout for a new back-up goalkeeper ahead of the imminent departure of Brad Jones.

And according to reports in the Sun, they have turned to Bolton's Adam Bogdan.

The Hungarian replaced Jussi Jaaskelainen as the Trotters No.1 and was handed a new deal by the club in April.

However, Liverpool remain keen and want to get a deal tied up as soon as possible.

I get that Liverpool are a big club and we're a bit shit but I don't get players who are just happy to go and sit on a bench and be a spectator for years on end. I also get that he would like more money but if £18,000 a week isn't enough for doing a job you supposedly love doing then what's the point. At least he will be playing week in week out for us and will be appreciated. He won't get a game at Anfield. He's just a fucking mercenary like the rest. We should just withdraw his contract offer and tell him to fuck off and warm liverpools bench and get Amos in. I can't understand why we just let Lonergan walk out of the door when he could have had a contract on substantially less money than Boggers and he was a good keeper as well imo.

I don't know if you can blame Bogdan for backing himself and wanting to give it a go. He's still young for a keeper and the opportunity to move to a club Liverpool's size is very unlikely to come around for him again.

Fair play to him, so long as they don't sign another keeper I think he's got every chance of getting in ahead of Mignolet, what's really a sickener is to miss out on a fee for one of our better players.

okay you have to be talented to play (well in some cases) but it should also be a privilege and you should want to be playing every week not just happy sat watching and getting paid obscene amounts of money.

Mignolets been shocking for them, first mistake he'll be out. Not sure if Bogdans any better I be honest but if you were in his shoes would you really not try and back yourself?

Raimond Van Der Gouw was at Utd for six years.

If we take a conservative stab at his wages being about £20k a week for the entire time he was there, that's a shade over £6.2 million.

For playing 37 games.

It just adds another big position to fill during the summer. Now it's a minimum of a striker a center back and a goalkeeper all good enough to go into the starting 11. It would be a big ask with a budget, near impossible without.

We have absolutely no cash available for transfer fees, so the only people we eill possibly bring in will be on frees and will be offered peanuts.

As a result we will sign hardly anybody and the ones who do come in will be mediocre at best and will only come to Bolton because nobody else is interested in them.

And they will be largely shit.

We'd better all pray that by some miracle, the backroom staff at Euxton can come up with a way of making our players more robust and less injury prone next season because we will need everybody fit if we're to have any chance of not being involved in a battle in the bottom thitd of the league again.

Fair enough, can't see why anybody would think differently to that to be honest. It's been our situation for a long time.
