Vardy has been on fire for Leicester these last few months and has been s big part of their revival. If you are picking a squad based on current form then I guess he merits a pick but I don't see him being consistent enough in the long term. He's just hit a purple patch that won't last imo. Heaton is consistent so deserves it. It must be hard for goalkeepers though. He is never going to overshadow joe hart unless there's an injury.

Vardy is a hard worker but i can't see him making the step up in class to be honest, Austin deserves a go as he's seems like a natural goalscorer.

True, but they're still better quality than Scotland can call upon

True, but if it wasn't for the U21s we'd have Berahino and Kane in there instead. Not to mention the injured players we're missing.
The bottom of our barrel would still walk straight into Scotland's first team.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
Big Sams first starting 11 as England manager. Only 3 changes from the team that lost to Iceland.
Starting 11 - 4-2-3-1 - Hart, Cahill, Stones, Walker, Rose, Dier, Henderson, Lallana, Sterling, Rooney, Kane.
Thoughts?

It might be almost the same, (players wise) but Sam will have a better game plan, the players will be more mind set, probably fitter, and play as a unit also better defending from free kicks, corners etc etc.
I would expect the players to cover more miles in running and putting a shift in, not just going through the motions, ( Sam wouldn't play them otherwise) so we'll have to see, it's not a bad team on paper IMO .

I hate to say it, but I agree with WGO.
Henderson and Llama have failed time and time again. Kane had an awful Euro 2016 and has continued his poor form.
The thing I find most amazing is Allardyce spent the back end of last season saying Defoe should be back in the England squad, but now that's he's picking the team he can't take his own advice.
And he still owes me two hotdogs.
