And the winner is... Stig of the Dump!
I absolutely loved that show and have read the book to my boys a couple of times recently, much to their delight... 'Noooooo! Not Barney and Stig again!!!'

Like Pugwash. Still got them all on DVD.
Quite a few urban myths about the show still abound, but I certainly don't remember coming across Master Bates,or Seaman Stains, despite the stories.
"coming across" is probably the wrong phrase, but you know what I mean.

I remember it in the sixties. It used to be on at around 6-6.30 on Sunday night and I used to nip to the off-licence for a root beer. Back then I never saw the significance of Master Bates or Seaman Staines and I'm not sure my parents did either because they wouldn't have let me watch it!
