I'm old enough to have watched Labour lose the plot during the Thatcher years and appoint the wrong leaders - and imo give Thatcher and then Major a free pass at the Parlimentary elections for over a decade.
Although good people both Michael Foot and Neil Kinnock never had that 'X' factor about them and things only changed when John Smith and Blair came on the scene.
Well we've already had the 'wrong' Millibrand, whose image and appeal to the wider electorate was simply not there, so whover it is they appoint this time needs to be the right person or it could be as much as another ten years before they have chance again to get back in power - if they ever do again!
Just think about that. They lose the next election in 5 years under who they appoint now, and have to wait until the election after by which time Scotland may possibly be seperate from us and Labours power bases such as Wales and the north of England looking for devolved powers under 'new' regional partys.
Who would have said just 2 years ago that Labour would have been wiped out in their 'enginee room' of Scotland - yet it happened.
Anyway, one of these four below seem to be most likely to be Labours new leader.
To be honest even I don't know much about them but the little I do, I've quite been impressed with Umanna the most.
Have you even heard of them - if so who do you think will be the next leader of the red team?
