Cooper

a) because she's a woman, and
b) because she is marginally the least pitiful of the obvious candidates.

God knows what her views on anything are.

Probably the only way Balls will get anywhere near number 10.

Harperson is a busted flush. As soon as a new leader is elected she will be gone. Burnham is the bookies favourite but I would like to see David Miliband come back into British politics.

David Miliband is just Tony Blair mark II. Anyway he is too much in love with the money he makes to give it up for a return to politics.

To quote Wiki:

According to the Financial Times, "much of Mr Miliband’s time has been spent on his lucrative directorships and speaking roles, which he would be expected to give up if he returned to frontline politics…as of January 2013, David Miliband has made just short of £1m on top of his MP’s salary since he failed to win the Labour leadership in the summer of 2010."[86]

David Miliband is one of six members of the Global Advisory Board of Macro Advisory Partners, which advises multinational corporations, sovereign wealth funds, investors and governments.[87]

In January 2012, David Miliband joined the Board of Directors of Mauritius-based private equity group, Indus Basin Holdings. IBH operates Rice Partners [88] in the Punjab region of Pakistan. It specialises in managing the end-to-end supply chain for major global users of rice.[89][90]

According to the Financial Times,[86] "Mr Miliband’s jobs include advisory roles with VantagePoint Capital Partners, a Californian group; Oxford Analytica, a UK advisory company; and Indus Basin Holdings, a Pakistani agrochemical group. He is also a member of the advisory board to the Sir Bani Yas academic forum, which is hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. Despite supporting Arsenal, Mr Miliband is vice-chairman and a non-executive director of Sunderland. As a speaker he commands a fee of up to £20,000."

Miliband is also on the Advisory Board of VantagePoint Capital Partners.[91]

David Miliband is a member of the Trilateral Commission, founded and chaired by David Rockefeller.

Burnham, for sure.  He is well respected in Leigh and everytime I have seen him on Sunday Politics NorthWest or even QT he has commanded very well and tells it as it is and doesn't faulter.

Maybe his only downfall is that he is from the Blair-Brown era.

Chuka - no thanks.  He is definitely a Blairite and even sounds like him!

Yvette Cooper, not strong enough, and fro what I saw on news earlier, doesn't know how to big herself up!

Can't handle the pressure apparently. Better he realises it now. If he thinks thinks the rising level of pressure is too much now, imagine him as PM.

Fuck me....

Read the comments on this shit and you will realise why we lost last week.

The Big Lie is complete and everybody's fallen for it.

"Yeah, but Coogan's got a Ferrari and lives in a big house. How can he be sincere about this, he's obviously lying...etc"

The British people are now officially thick.

Considering the complete and utter rejection of the Labour Party id suggest that isn't true.

Button it you!

You had your day in the sun and I'm happy for you but please leave what's left of us Socialists in England (greatest country in the world, by the way) to lick our wounds in peace, please.

Thank you.

Jeremy Corbyn makes the ballot! What a result. Long shot still but I know who's getting my vote.

I think Burnham will win it comfortably. I certainly wouldn't want Ed Balls patronising missus running the party.

Suspect you might be right RT. I'm not a huge fan of Burnham as a leader but he's better than Kendall and Cooper for sure.

I'm hoping Corbyn's inclusion will at least make the debate intresting, he talks a lot of sense IMO and isn't afraid to go against the mainstream as he did with Sinn Fein in the 80's.

Corbyn won't win,but he'll be getting my vote. Don't underestimate him though,he has a lot of grass roots support.
Exchanged a lot of emails with him over the years regarding animal welfare, for which he is a passionate advocate, and I can't speak highly enough of him.
He'll scare the shit out of Mail readers.
