A Yank talking about mushy peas. affraid

Though fish and chips are a perfect pairing, the smushed peas that come with this dish are absolutely disgusting and horribly unappetising. If I want my peas mushy, I will chew them. I don't need something like that on my plate.

I came home for two weeks this Summer, Karly. A week in Bolton/Manchester and then flitted around the country to see friends. Filled my face with Carrs and Greggs and had plenty of pub lunches, fish and chips (and mushy peas) etc. Seemed like fat chips come with just about everything you order too. It's the reason I'm craving pies again and could do with dropping a few pounds.
They mock British food over here but they have absolutely no idea how good it can be. Their experience of it is usually just the crappy pizza slices you get at Leicester Square. Wankers.

I am making some celery soup, I've just discovered Biona bread, its really healthy, so I will have some of that toasted with it, maybe with some cheese, then some fruit for pudding. Maybe yum, maybe a fish and chip run later instead.

Finally I will be having 3 sausages, 3 smoked rashers of bacon, Heinz (it has to be!) beans, mushrooms, fried egg and mini potato waffles.

All washed down with some Badger Ales! :number1:

With my health kick, I'm experimenting with eating my main meal at lunchtime. Today I had bagel with hummous and tomato, crab and beetroot salad, fruit and yogurt. Got homemade celery soup for dinner, i'll be starving by 9pm I reckon
