NAMES
Wellington Alves da Silva was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on January 6 1993.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Coming through the ranks at Fluminense, the then 15-year-old initially joining Arsenal on trial in December 2008 and impressed by scoring four goals in one match against Norwich City! He also later scored for the Gunners’ reserves against Manchester United in August 2010.

INTERNATIONAL SCENE
He represented Brazil side alongside Neymar and Philippe Coutinho in the 2009 Under-17 FIFA World Cup and 2009 South American Under-17 Football Championships. More recently, he was a member of the Under-21s side that won the China International Tournament last year and will have aspirations to represent his country in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

ENGLAND-BOUND
Agreeing to join the Gunners in a £3.5m deal in January 2010, the forward wasn’t allowed to complete the move until his 18th birthday a year later. 

TITLES
He scored on his senior debut for Fluminense against Friburguense in February 2010, and was a member of the squad that won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title that year.

LA LIGA
However, having only been granted a work permit to play in England in April 2015, Wellington has spent the last four-and-a-half seasons on loan in Spain, enjoying stints in Segunda Division with Alcoyano, Ponferradina and Real Murcia, and in La Liga with Levante and Almeria – making 31 league appearances for the latter last season.

GOALSCORER
Despite not managing to score for Almeria in the top-flight last year, ironically he did score against them on his Alcoyano debut back in January 2012. In total he has registered nine goals from 74 appearances in the Spanish Segunda Division. 

CREATOR
Although not a prolific goalscorer, he has set up 12 goals over the last two seasons for Real Murcia and Almeria.

FIFA 15
With a rating of 73 on FIFA 15, Wellington has five star skills while his best attributes are; Agility 93, Balance 92, Acceleration 92, Sprint Speed 91 and Dribbling 79.
