Just to chuck summat into the middle here's some, only some, ingredients in cigarettes, and it's supposed to be regulated? Apart from that, at £8 ish a packet of 20 (some now 19) I can't afford to smoke, well, and eat.

Ammonia: Household cleaner
Angelica root extract: Known to cause cancer in animals
Arsenic: Used in rat poisons
Benzene: Used in making dyes, synthetic rubber
Butane: Gas; used in lighter fluid
Carbon monoxide: Poisonous gas
Cadmium: Used in batteries
Cyanide: Deadly poison
DDT: A banned insecticide
Ethyl Furoate: Causes liver damage in animals
Lead: Poisonous in high doses
Formaldehiyde: Used to preserve dead specimens
Methoprene: Insecticide
Megastigmatrienone: Chemical naturally found in grapefruit juice
Maltitol: Sweetener for diabetics
Napthalene: Ingredient in mothballs
Methyl isocyanate: Its accidental release killed 2000 people in Bhopal, India in 1984
Polonium: Cancer-causing radioactive element

Bread, just out of interest, are you looking to use vaping as a substitute for the genuine article,or as a tool in the fight to give up smoking for good?

Purely as a sub, Boncey.

At the risk of invoking another link to an article in the latest edition of "101 Spurious Facts You Can Try And Use To Win Arguments On The Internet When You're Talking Absolute Shite Monthly" from xmiles, I'm confident that when a group of top doctors say that vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking, it's safe enough to keep doing it.

It's a cheaper, safer alternative and I enjoy it.

(And by the way, I have given up smoking for good. I last had a fag about two and a half years ago and I know I will never smoke another.)

Some of the flavours you can get are surprising.
I know a bloke who smokes Battenburg cake flavour.

Amoeba - Fish - Bird - Aeroplane.

And thinks it takes about three weeks.

I can just about live with being talked down to by someone with a superior intellect who knows their stuff (no, not you in the flat in Preston) but when it's some goon who doesn't even understand why fags are bad for you, it's hard to take.

As always Breadman is ready with the abuse but totally unable to put a coherent and logical case together. He is of course completely misquoting me on evolution because he doesn't understand either the argument or even how evolution works. Rather than offend him by posting a link to scientific research I suggest he simply googles "how quickly does evolution happen" and try reading some of the evidence. I am of course assuming he knows how to google.

Vapes, Boncey....not smokes.

This is where the confusion comes in.

Non-vapers see a cloud emanating from someone's mouth and to all intents and purposes it looks like smoke so they think it's the same.

But it's not.

It's vapour and it's got more in common with a glass of water than it has with a cigarette.

It dissipates almost immediately, it doesn't stink and it doesn't contain any of the harmful chemicals found in fag smoke.

And you can't inhale "second hand" vapour because it evaporates very quickly.

It really is completely different.

You started this thread by calling the doctors at Public Health England idiots and anybody who smoked stupid and moronic.

You set the tone with the abuse - I just ran with it.

Never really thought about that.
Can't really bring myself to say 'vaping'. Take the point though.

I agree that vaping sounds nobby but I'll keep using it to ram the point home that it's not smoking.

I do feel passionate about this subject because there are far too many ill-informed dickheads out there muddying the waters regarding the debate because they simply don't understand what they're on about.

But you try telling 'em...... Very Happy

Why should they issue them on the NHS when you can buy them from shops, more shit the tax payer has to fork out.

If they can afford cigs, then they can afford an Ecig.

I'm too fat and depressed to walk to the shops.

I've paid my stamp so I should have my e-liquid delivered to my door.

You can get SKY on the NHS if you tell your doctor  you're bored.

The refills probably cost more on the NHS if you have to pay for your prescriptions!

I don't tend to smoke but if I did I would prefer a proper smoke and not some of this vaping stuff. Smile

You really do have problems with your reading don't you. Here is what I said: Smoking cigarettes is a stupid and very unhealthy habit. How is that calling doctors at Public Health England idiots?

Your refusal to engage with a logical argument and constant use of abuse is an indication of your very limited intelligence. Does calling me a thick cunt and telling me to fuck off really advance your argument?

Best you go off and have another hit of your fix because as we all know you are too weak willed to give it up.

Very Happy

I was quite a bit of a smoker a few years back when I lived abroad.

My choice was either the menthol or lights version of Malboro, lovely.

Xmiles, you say smoking is a stupid and unhealthy thing to do.

Do you drink alcohol?
