Andy Kellett has signed for League One side Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

Academy graduate Kellett has been with Bolton since the age of seven and has registered four senior appearances for the club.

The left-sider had loan spells with Plymouth Argyle and Manchester United during the 2014/15 campaign and he has now completed a permanent move to the DW Stadium.

Kellett joins ex-Bolton players Jussi Jaaskelainen, Craig Davies, Sanmi Odelusi and Kevin McNaughton in the Wigan ranks.

Everyone at Bolton Wanderers would like to thank Andy for his efforts during his time at the club and wishes him well in his future endeavours.

I really don't get it. After years of investment into this lad, we get a short term cash injection and a relatively small wage off the books. If we get relegated, he's exactly the sort of player we'd need in L1 when the high-earning loanees go back to their clubs and it's not as though he's expensive to keep as a contingency. Appreciate he's not going to be top class, but he could easily be a solid player in this division if he was given the opportunities he's never had.
