Because he's just carried 25 large pizzas to your front door.

This is exactly how I feel.bwfc1874 wrote:Chairmanda wrote:I think I may be in a minority here then...I tip a lot, and stopped going to restaurants who had a policy of not passing tips on to waiting staff. I tip in taxis, hairdressers, hotels, restaurants. I guess I do it because I like it when people do something for me, and also I have a horror of being seen as mean, I like being generous when I can, it makes me feel good, so I get as much out of being the tipper as the tippee! Having said all that, I have recently been getting food delivered and it has never occurred to me to tip the driver.
I just don't see why I should tip people who I'm already paying to do their job, doesn't seem fair to me - unless they go out of their way to do something anyway!

Tommy Cooper was a legendary miser. He once got out of a taxi and reached into his pocket and removed something which he put in the drivers hand saying, ' Have a drink on ,me.' It turned out to be a teabag.

I do tip. And depending on the level of service depends on the tip

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
I deliver mostly furniture and I get tipped occasionally. It does happen.Natasha Whittam wrote:You did ask a stupid question. I've never heard of anyone tipping the delivery guy.
Do you tip the postman every day?

We are ripped off in this country and that's why we don't have a tipping culture.

I'd tip people but I never have any money. Everything i pay for is paid with debit card. Shopping, petrol, takeaways, drinks in the pub, etc. The last time I drew money out of a cash machine was nearly 12 month ago to put in my nephews birthday card.

Most restaurants I have been to have the option to add a gratuity when paying on one of those wireless terminals with a card.

Apparently the homeless are suffering massively for this same reason. Flooding back into the big cities and turning to crime to compensate.
The tipping culture here in the States is shit. Don't encourage it over there.

I rarely tip, I do give an extra quid to the hairdresser as he talks football which makes the task less boring.

Men don't go to the "hairdresser".
Have you considered joining the bumchums?
