I've always been irrationally patriotic when comes to the England national team and since '66 it's been an experience akin to supporting the Wanderers - always hoping that the team will play to it's potential and that it will be good enough to prevail, but seldom doing it.
Yet again I will be supporting England, hoping for the best, questioning the managers selection (e.g. Milner) and lack of tactical bravery whist fully expecting to be thumped.
The difference this time is that following the sick joke that was the World Cup, I'd be happy with a show of commitment to the shirt, even if we get thumped.
