Bread reckons there are three good things about Nuts - one of them being Natasha's Behind Enemy Lines -

Breadman wrote:Says the man who officially killed Behind Enemy Lines.......

One of the only three good things about this site.

(I guess his other two being the top class modding we do and the love and empathy we all have to all our fellow Nutters) - but what are your three best things about Nuts?

(Do we actually even have as many as three best things in your opinion!)

I was actually joking about BEL being as high No3.

(I've got it at about twelfth on my unofficial list, behind the likes of how fucking thick Scott is and how easily Boggers changes his mind.)

BEL has been stale for a while and could do with sprucing up.

"Serial killer with toilet issues alert: Koppite73 wants to kill his wife and shit on Lennon's face, etc....." after our goal goes in.

"BlackcountryWolf says "I would rather eat my own face than sit through that boring shite at the Macron every week" - And who can blame him? etc.......

Yeah, seen it all before.

Several times.

JAH was right.

Can't you refrain from boggers and Scotts comments?

What I mean is the antagonistic comments between the 3 of you. It would make BN a great place, don't you think? Smile

1.They used to have topless women on the board and the more packs you ate the more she revealed.

2.All the powder that collects at the bottom of a dry roasted bag, a small taste of heaven.

3.I've just rediscovered salt and vinegar ones.

I love the chatbox for away days always makes me laugh

I don't have any specific favourite things about the site just love the whole thing. The banter and laughs are what keep bringing me back every day. I even love the many meltdowns and internet wars that go on on a daily basis.

I really like BEL, its definitely in my top 3, and hope Nat has the opportunity to create a classic one after this eve. I like the fact we can have some serious threads (even if they go off track) and for my third, though this is a personal one, being largely housebound for a while, vicariously reading of the outside world on this and other forums (you have no idea how I agonised over typing that word, if I correctly call it "fora" I'll get slated for being posh, but hate typing the wrong word!) has kept me sane coupled with friends in the real world being amazing.

Nuts has kept you sane??!! Presumably by comparison and contrast with some of the other nutters on here!!!
Agree with you about BEL, and the occasional serious topics, as well as the genuinely amusing posters: you know who you are!

1. The funniest poster (Natasha Whittam) always keeps me interested, BEL etc etc.
2. The betting shop, comps, and games etc etc.
3. Boggers, 71, Bonce, Johnny, KP,1874,Norpig and other posters who you can have the crack with.

This about sums it up for me. The majority of the posters are good and genuinely make me laugh. I used to think all the arguments were just daft but tbh it adds to the site, I find it amusing. I like the competitions and the threads are a good balance between serious and light hearted and the layout is good. Easily the best forum.

The chatbox would be a plus but I'm usually out and about on match day so for the most part in log in on my phone but I don't bother any more as it just doesn't work how it should.

Cycling rocks.

Don't ever forget that fact.

It's almost as cool as astronomy.

I don't really understand why most people who like sport don't seem to 'get' cycling.

There really is a lot to it - strategy, races within races, a team game with the intention of the team sacrificing itself for their leaders sole benefit, even different events ranging from one day 'classic' races to three week 'tours'.

There's even two separate and distinctive sports in cycling - the indoor track cycling stuff, where Team GB riders are on top of the world in winning Olympic gold medals - and the outdoor road cycling stuff where in riders like Froome, Cavendish and Wiggins we have dominated the top end of the sport for the last four or five years.

If that's not enough, there are so many different disciplines within the sport from riding individual time trials, to riding up mountains (real mountains mind you) to riding in all weathers (high 30C's to rain, sleet and snow), riding on cobblestones and in cross winds by the sea fronts.

Of course the sport is tainted by drugs but hand on heart show me a sport that isn't. Footballers have been injecting their bodies with pain killers (cortisone injections) since I was a lad!

There is a lot of theatre about cycling, things often don't go to plan and a whole seasons work can come crashing down in a moment if you have a flat tyre at the wrong moment or you crash through no fault of your own.

I simply enjoy following the sport and think most others would too if they got to understand more about it instead of thinking its just about a bunch of drugies racing against each other simply to be the first over the line.

Each to their own though I guess.
