Are Spain World and European champions because of an absence of pressure from home or because they're a great side that's well managed?

I'm fed up of hearing the crapness of England being blamed on the amount of pressure for trophies, and what's even more annoying is the idea that there's little or no pressure on this England side going into Euro 2012. Firstly, is that even true, secondly, if it is, is it for good reason, and thirdly, is it even beneficial?

England are always under pressure because of the media in this country.

The current England squad is poor, but they do have less high profile bellends this time round so perhaps they'll surprise us.

its time to accept that our national team, our 'home grown' players are simply not that good.

forget the media hype, im sure most other big footballing countries have the same hype/pressure/expectation as we do.

the only issue with why we never win is becasue we are shit...

Sadly anyone who's English and between the ages of 18-24 are "the best young players in the world"

25 + are "the best players in the world" (Cole, Terry, Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard and now Joe Hart)

Hart i've heard described as the best goalie in the world twice on SSN recently.

If you consistently overstate the ability of your players you're bound to be let down.

I think if England got to the quarters and showed spirit on the way, most people would be happy. You'd have to be mad to think England has the best squad going into the competition, but there's enough there to have a good go at it, or at least there was before it was narrowed down to 23.

What's been disappointing in the past is the manner in which they've gone out. Scraping past lesser oppositions with uninspirational performances before getting shat on in the early knockout stages by a better organised and motivated team.

England will do well at Euro 2012, semi-finals at worst.
