Neil Lennon praised his players’ application and professionalism following Bolton’s 1-1 home draw against Brentford on Monday evening.
Neil Danns fired home the equaliser midway through the second half in front of the Sky cameras at Macron Stadium, after John Swift had earlier opened the scoring for the visitors.
Speaking in his post-match press conference Lennon said: “We know we lack a little bit of quality at times, but I can’t fault the players’ effort and commitment tonight.
“We went down to what was a very good goal from Brentford, but I thought we responded well, particularly in the second half. In the end we could have won the game, but a draw was probably a fair result.
“Dannzy had a couple of pot shots in the first half, and he’s got that in his game. He was more like his usual self tonight. His goal came at a good time for us.
“We had plenty of possession in the second half and worked so hard, but unfortunately that second goal just wouldn’t come our way.
“Ben Amos has made a couple of great saves, particularly late on, and he has shown his quality tonight. He’s a young goalkeeper who is only going to get better.
“We spoke to the players about the situation today. As a club, we’re all in it together. I do think that something like this can make you stronger. Yes, we are going through a difficult time, but the strength here is the supporters and players.
“We were united tonight and I firmly believe a couple of wins can change the entire landscape of the situation.”
