Hang on though. How do I go about choosing which threads get nominated? 

Amount of views? Amount of comments? Quality of content? 

I could be spending all day trawling through a years worth of threads.

While we're on the subject sluffy, I know Johnny has already mentioned this idea more than once, but I don't think he's ever got an answer, but his idea of having some sort of recognition underneath the avi somewhere of the award winner is a good idea. Is it possible?

Edit: it is possible by putting the winners in different user groups by that way but would be a lot of pissing about TBH.
