I've spent most of the morning in our biannual R&D Project Meeting with a load of scientists who appear to speak Martian, so my heads battered.
But at least I'm dry.
Bit of a waste of time subjecting myself to it really when, according to a certain moderator on here, I'm long-term unemployed and I don't actually work.
Still.....it passes the time.
And I'm rewarding myself this afternoon with "a very important meeting" with the people who supply our phones in St Helens.
ie, 20 minutes down the East Lancs from our house.
Should I head back to the office when it's done at about 2 o'clock?
Or shall I go home and start the weekend early.....?

I've never heard a "visit to St Helens" and the word reward ever mentioned in a sentence together, finish early and book it as PTS

Our boss issues us with waterproof trousers.
On Monday I'll be having a chat with him in an effort to ascertain whether his idea of 'waterproof' coincides with mine.

I think that the fact the chat is taking place at all means it's a rhetorical question

Ocado don't sell Hollands pies. Still pisses me off.
Just thought I'd mention it.

I'm surprised you shop with an upmarket grocery delivery company seeing that you don't enjoy exquisite food such as that lava bread you have been moaning about.boltonbonce wrote:Ocado don't sell Hollands pies. Still pisses me off.

Perhaps a trip to Farmfoods is in order?

Ocado aren't upmarket. They'll match TESCO and refund the difference if your shop would have been cheaper there.
We've used ADSA before now,and they are as cheap as anyone, but for me,they lack range/choice.
Ocado have been top notch since we started using them, and I don't see us changing in the near future.
Try them. But don't waste time looking for Hollands pies.

You can't beat McManus' pies in Farnworth.
Not much use to Boncey, but their meat and potato is excellent.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
They're not bad but Wilsons in Kearsley is the best for me. Their peppered steak pies are amazing.Breadman wrote:You can't beat McManus' pies in Farnworth.

Ryders farm in Kearsley do a cracking plate pie at the shop they have there on site as well.
